LHM Charities: March of Dimes Albuquerque

"Formed in 1995, Larry H. Miller Charities (LHM Charities) is a nonprofit foundation that functions as the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Assistance from the foundation is directed toward groups and programs based in the communities where Miller companies conduct business. Attention purposely focuses on issues that affect women and children, with an emphasis on health and education."

Larry H Miller Dealerships in Albuquerque come together often to give back to our great community. In July, we all joined to provided the March of Dimes with a grant in the amount of $5,000 in support of their neo-natal intensive care unit program (NICU) in Albuquerque.

"Every year in the United States, more than half a million babies are born too soon, 3,716 of them right here in New Mexico. With your help, we work to improve the health of babies and support families if something does go wrong."

Let's all come together to support great causes and programs like this.

Larry H Miller Charities: New Mexico

The Larry H Miller dealerships in Albuquerque recently visited a total of 4 amazing organizations and were able to give each a donation to further their purpose in our community.  Every representative from the Larry H Miller Albuquerque dealerships were very touched and humbled as we learned more about each organization.

El Ranchito de Los Ninos

"El Ranchito de Los Ninos - $5,000 grant towards the educational needs for their foster children.  They currently house a total of 13 children between the ages of 2 to 18.  Their mission is to keep brothers and sisters together, and to give siblings a stable a loving home.  They are the only foster home in the State of NM who keeps sibling groups together.  One story really hit my heart about 4 brothers who were found living in a tent.  The oldest, only 3 years old, was caring for his siblings and finding them food to eat.  They have now been at this home for about a year and are all doing very well.  www.elranchitonm.org

Basket of Hope

Basket of Hope - $5,000 towards gift baskets for long term pediatric patients.  The basket are filled with age-appropriate and gender specific toys, games, books, crafts, movies, pre-loaded MP3 players, and much more.  The basket also contain personalized ‘capes of hope’ and handmade blankets.  www.basketofhope.org

Youth Development Inc.

Youth Development Inc. NM- $5,000 towards the Computer Clubhouse.  YDI’s computer clubhouse is designed to give youth ages 8-18 access to computer technology.  Mentors work with each individual to explore ideas, nurture their talents, and build self-esteem through the use of technology.  The clubhouse is equipped with computers including a robotics computer that contains several computer programs and a music and recording studio.  Participants create computer generated art and music, build their own robots, design web pages, and program new computer games.  They are strong supporters of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).  YDI NM works with youth that come from low income families and provide them a safer alternative to spend their day while encouraging educational growth.   www.ydinm.org

PB&J Family Services

PB&J Family Services - $3,000  to help with transportation of families to the therapeutic preschool in Bernalillo.   The facility in Bernalillo, NM assists the most vulnerable, neediest, and isolated families to receive services that otherwise are not accessible to them.  The therapeutic preschool program is an intense, interactive parenting education program designed to provide service for children up to five years old and their parents.  PB&J provides a variety of programs designed to train, educate, nurture and strengthen at-risk families, including: parenting education, life skills training for jailed parents, health education, and in-home training and education for families in which one or both parents have developmental disabilities.  The organization serves over 1,400 families every year.  www.pbjfamilyservices.org "

A special thank you to Gail and Greg Miller for helping us reach out to our community in such a wonderful way. We are truly grateful to be part of the LHM family and part of this great Albuquerque community.

Toyota and Community

Toyota and Community
Toyota USA has taken great strides nationally to give back to those who have supported us. Here at Larry H Miller American Toyota Albuquerque we continue that focus on our customer's and community.

Yes we are here to sell vehicles, but as a business, we have so much fun supporting local charities and organizations. We have had the opportunity to plant flowers at a school, support the UNM Lobos, and help fund literacy programs through the Albuquerque Public School system. We also assist with Mentoring programs with Big Brother and Big Sisters of New Mexico.

All of these are great opportunities for our Toyota team to take part in something bigger than ourselves and represent the Larry H Miller Charities in a positive way. We look forward to many more opportunities to give back to the Albuquerque community.

Have you taken the time to volunteer your time or give monetarily to a local organization or charity?
